Privacy Policy

Myexis is built so that your data stays with you. Everything the app learns about your digital footprint is processed on your device and stored there and, if you sign in with Apple, in your own iCloud. There is no Myexis server that receives it, and no one at Myexis can read it.

Who we are

Myexis (“Myexis”, “we”, “us”) is a service provided by Lucas Kaya Litho, an individual based in Belgium, who is the data controller for this policy. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact us at [email protected].

This policy covers the Myexis iOS app and this website (myexis.com). It is written for our first launch market, the United States, and also describes the rights of users in California and, briefly, the EEA/UK.

The short version

• We don’t have a server that holds your data. Myexis has no backend database of users. What the app builds, the map of companies that know you, lives on your device and, if you sign in with Apple, in your private iCloud.
• You build the map yourself. Myexis does not connect to your email or any account. It holds only what you add: the companies you choose and the notes, costs, and reminders you set.
• Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. There is no analytics SDK, no ad network, no tracking identifier, and no data broker in Myexis.
• You can erase at any time. Clear All Data deletes your map, notes, costs and reminders from the device and, if you’re signed in, your iCloud backup; Delete Account does the same, signs you out and resets the app.

What data is involved, and where it lives

The map you build

You add the companies you use, from Myexis’s built-in catalog or by name. Myexis does not connect to your email, your contacts, or any other account; it holds only what you enter.

The footprint Myexis builds

The result, your list of companies, categories, notes, costs and reminders, is stored locally on your device (in app storage) and, if you sign in with Apple, in your own iCloudaccount, scoped to your Apple ID. This is Apple’s private storage: it is not a Myexis server and we cannot access it.

Breach information

To show which of your companies appear in a known data breach, Myexis uses the public breach list published by Have I Been Pwned(licensed CC BY 4.0). A copy ships inside the app, and about once a day the app downloads the latest version of that same public list. The download is identical for everyone. Like any web request it reveals your device’s IP address to Have I Been Pwned; nothing else is sent. Your companies, email addresses, and account details are never sent to Have I Been Pwned or to us. The comparison with your companies happens only on your device.

Company facts

Facts such as a company’s owner, headquarters and founding year come from Wikidata (public domain, CC0). They are built into the app; Myexis makes no request to Wikidata while you use it, and shows a fact only when the source is clear.

Other things kept on your device

• Your name and profile photo, if you set them. Your name is also included in your iCloud backup if you use it. The photo is picked from your library only when you choose one (the app sees only that photo), stays on this device, and is not backed up.
• Your recent searches in the app.
• Notifications: the reminders you set on a company, the weekly check-in and new breach alerts, if you allow notifications. They are scheduled locally by iOS on your iPhone; nothing is sent to a server.
• Diagnostics. Crash and performance information that iOS provides to the app stays on your device. Myexis does not send it anywhere.

Sign in with Apple

Myexis uses Sign in with Apple only to secure your private identity and iCloud backup. We do not store your email address or any password.

This website

myexis.com serves these pages. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and the pages you are reading set no cookie at all.

How we use the data

Solely to provide the app’s features to you: building and showing your footprint and its categories, your costs and reminders, which of your companies appear in a known breach, and general steps for closing an account. We do not profile you for anyone else, and we do not make the data available to third parties.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. Because the data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, there is nothing for us to share. Apple processes your Sign in with Apple identity and iCloud backup under its own privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

You control retention. The footprint persists on your device until you delete items or use the controls in the app (You, then Settings, then Help & FAQ, then Managing your data): Clear All Datadeletes your map, notes, costs and reminders from the device and, if you’re signed in, your iCloud backup, and Delete Account does the same, signs you out and resets the app. Deleting the app removes the local data only; an iCloud backup stays in your iCloud until you use Delete Account or remove it in your Apple ID settings.

Your rights

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Myexis does not sell or share your personal information, and does not process it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Because your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, most requests you can fulfil directly in the app; for anything else, contact [email protected] and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

EEA/UK residents. Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, our lawful basis for the processing above is the performance of our service to you. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority).

Children

Myexis is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date at this same URL.
